How it Works Amy Ridgell
What is a personal chef? Amy Ridgell
A personal chef is a chef who comes to your home to prepare delicious meals for you, your family, and/or your friends.
As your personal chef, The Savory Whisk will come to your home and interview you to determine your specific dietary needs and wants. We can create a meal together, or I can use your assessment to develop a customized menu for you.
On the selected cook date, I’ll do all the grocery shopping and bring the fresh ingredients to your home. After the meals are prepared, they are packaged, labeled, and placed in the refrigerator or freezer to be enjoyed at your convenience. If you are hosting a party, the food will be set to wow your guests! Once the cooking is complete, your kitchen will be clean and filled with the aroma of home cooked meals.
Who needs a personal chef? Amy Ridgell
A personal chef is perfect for people wanting to host parties, but don’t want to worry about set-up, cooking, or clean up, or those who want the convenience of being able to come home and heat up something fresh and delicious to enjoy any time of day or night. If you are tired of eating out, getting fast food, eating from the freezer section of your supermarket, or you just want some more quality time with friends and family, a personal chef is for you. Do you need help with meals because…
- You have no time to cook
- You don’t like your cooking
- You are hosting a party, tailgate, brunch, cocktail hour, or anything else and don’t want to cook
- You are tired of fast-food/restaurant/carry-out food
- You have unique dietary requirements
- You are a senior, bachelor, or new mom who has no time and/or interest in cooking
- You or a loved one have a physical limitation or were recently released from the hospital and are unable to cook for yourself
- You’re going on vacation and don’t want to spend your holiday cooking or waiting in line for a good meal
- etc . . .
Do you cook in my kitchen? Amy Ridgell
Unless you would prefer otherwise, all meals are cooked in the safety of your home kitchen. In our initial planning meeting, I will assess what tools you have. If I need anything you do not own, I bring my own equipment. After I am done cooking, I will ensure your kitchen is cleaner than it was when I started.
Can you change or provide meals to fit my diet? Amy Ridgell
Absolutely! During the initial assessment, we will discuss your dietary needs, preferences, and restrictions and determine a custom menu for you. Most food concerns and dietary sensitivities can be accommodated, including but not limited to: gluten-free, dairy-free, diabetic, vegetarian, and shellfish sensitivities.
Can I give a meal from The Savory Whisk as a gift? Amy Ridgell
Of course! Gift certificates are a perfect gift for new parents, friends and family, bridal parties, and just to say “I love you!”
I’ll be home that day – is it ok if I watch? Amy Ridgell
Because safety and professionalism are high priorities, it is important that our chef is able to work without distraction. Otherwise, there is a risk of forgotten ingredients or even cuts and burns. Our chef is able to provide a better service for you when they are focused on cooking, cleaning, and prepping.
However, if you are interested in learning how to prepare meals on your own, The Savory Whisk offers culinary courses by our Culinary Artist who holds a Master’s Degree in Education.
How do classes work? Amy Ridgell
We love to teach all levels of cooks – beginner to expert, child to adult!
Our Culinary Artist will perform a similar assessment as the initial client assessment to determine your level of skill and what you would like to learn. From there, a menu can will be created to best develop your skills in the kitchen. We’ll work with you from prep to plate so you can prepare a delicious meal for yourself, or your friends and family.
